Rosemarie Rotella, Senior Vice President
Rosemarie Rotella is the Senior Vice President for the firm and serves on the Executive Committee. She manages the day-to-day activities of Rotella’s Bellevue office; coordinates the administrative and operational efforts of the firm; affects the company’s human resources policies and procedures and works on various special assignments. Ms. Rotella is Robert Rotella’s sister.
Prior to transitioning to Senior Vice President, Ms. Rotella served as the President of Rotella from December 1996 until August 2009. In that capacity she oversaw the firm’s general management, contributed to the development of all aspects of the firm, and helped to evolve the firm’s culture to what it is today.
She was Mr. Rotella’s first employee, joining him at Commodities Corporation, a CFTC-registered commodity pool operator and commodity trading advisor, in August 1993. In April 1996 she left Commodities Corp. and began working for Rotella. She oversaw trade execution activities, acted as the principle point of contact for Mr. Rotella on business and personal issues, and managed and evolved operational processes for front and back office activities. Ms. Rotella’s previous experience includes working as a sales associate in the retail brokerage division of Merrill Lynch, a provider of wealth management, securities trading and sales, corporate finance and investment banking services.
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Niagara University and a Master of Business Administration degree with concentrations in Finance, Economics and General Management from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
Dean Crowder III, Managing Director | Global Head of Strategic Business Development
Dean W. Crowder III is the Managing Director | Global Head of Strategic Business Development for the firm. He leads Rotella’s overall sales and marketing efforts, manages investor relationships, and assists in strategic business planning initiatives as the firm leverages its deep experience in systematic investing. Mr. Crowder has represented hedge funds to global institutions in the Americas, Europe and Asia for over 21 years.
Prior to rejoining Rotella in August 2018, Mr. Crowder was Global Head of Business Development for Schultze Asset Management LP. Prior to joining Rotella, he founded Alpha Alternative Investments, LLC, a Texas-based RIA and represented select hedge funds and alternative investments to global institutions via an affiliation with Strait LLC. He held various senior marketing positions with leading hedge fund firms: Marketing Director at Vicis Capital, LLC, a multi-strategy volatility fund; Director of Marketing at Cotton Hall Asset Management, LP, a L/S European equity fund; Managing Director | Institutional Sales for Asia & Europe at Kenmar Global Investment Management LLC; and Director of Global Marketing at Alpha Investment Management, LLC, a hedge fund of funds founded by Nicolas Berggruen that was acquired by Safra Asset Management. While at Alpha Investment Management, LLC, he helped establish the hedge fund industry’s first managed account platform of hedge fund of funds and single hedging strategies for global institutions.
Mr. Crowder holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Michigan State University.
Kelly A. Fetzer, General Counsel
Kelly Fetzer is the General Counsel of the firm. She oversees all legal matters for Rotella. Ms. Fetzer has extensive legal, regulatory and business experience in the financial services industry, including 14+ years tackling matters specifically related to hedge funds, alternative investments and compliance. She also served as Chief Compliance Officer of the firm from August 2015- June 2019.
Prior to joining Rotella, she practiced law with several Chicago area firms, where she counseled a wide variety of alternative investment managers on all aspects of business operations, including management organization, product and service development, marketing and regulatory compliance. She represented investment advisers, commodity pool operators and commodity trading advisors of all sizes – start-ups to institutional managers – from across the U.S. and several foreign countries. Ms. Fetzer’s background also includes experience at Guggenheim Partners as in-house counsel for multiple affiliated investment advisers on a range of business and strategic topics in connection with on-going operations both in and outside the U.S., and she structured and led the simultaneous launch of multiple private funds.
She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University School of Law.
Alison Aldrich, Controller
Alison Aldrich is the Controller for Rotella Capital Management. She manages all aspects of fund accounting and financial reporting. Ms. Aldrich is also responsible for the day-to-day operation of the firm’s back office. She oversees the accounting and back office systems designed to monitor and confirm accurate and timely financial reporting. Ms. Aldrich manages the implementation of the firm’s accounting and back office procedures and internal controls.
Ms. Aldrich joined the firm in 2005 as a member of the Accounting department.
She graduated from Spring Hill College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and a double concentration in Accounting and Computer Information Systems and received a Master of Business Administration from Seattle University.
