Rosemarie Rotella, Senior Vice President
Rosemarie Rotella is the Senior Vice President for the firm and serves on the Executive Committee. She manages the day-to-day activities of Rotella’s Bellevue office; coordinates the administrative and operational efforts of the firm; affects the company’s human resources policies and procedures and works on various special assignments. Ms. Rotella is Robert Rotella’s sister.
Prior to transitioning to Senior Vice President, Ms. Rotella served as the President of Rotella from December 1996 until August 2009. In that capacity she oversaw the firm’s general management, contributed to the development of all aspects of the firm, and helped to evolve the firm’s culture to what it is today.
She was Mr. Rotella’s first employee, joining him at Commodities Corporation, a CFTC-registered commodity pool operator and commodity trading advisor, in August 1993. In April 1996 she left Commodities Corp. and began working for Rotella. She oversaw trade execution activities, acted as the principle point of contact for Mr. Rotella on business and personal issues, and managed and evolved operational processes for front and back office activities. Ms. Rotella’s previous experience includes working as a sales associate in the retail brokerage division of Merrill Lynch, a provider of wealth management, securities trading and sales, corporate finance and investment banking services.
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Niagara University and a Master of Business Administration degree with concentrations in Finance, Economics and General Management from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
Justin Wallace, Director of Trading
Justin Wallace is the Director of Trading for the firm. He oversees all trading activity and facilitates the implementation of various proprietary technology projects. Mr. Wallace joined Rotella in 2008 as a member of the trading team.
Prior to 2008 he worked at Balyasny Asset Management as trader, gaining experience in high frequency trading and working with information technology professionals to develop and implement various automated trading programs. Mr. Wallace also previously worked as an independent trader and for Xcel Energy as an energy portfolio manager.
He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Washington.
Kelly A. Fetzer, General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer
Kelly Fetzer is the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of the firm. She oversees all legal matters for Rotella and directs the compliance program. Ms. Fetzer has extensive legal, regulatory and business experience in the financial services industry, including 12+ years tackling matters specifically related to hedge funds and alternative investments.
Prior to joining Rotella, she practiced law with several Chicago area firms, including Drinker Biddle and Reath, where she counseled a wide variety of alternative investment managers on all aspects of business operations, including management organization, product and service development, marketing and regulatory compliance. She represented investment advisors, commodity pool operators and commodity trading advisors of all sizes – start-ups to multi-billion dollar managers – from across the U.S. and several foreign countries. Ms. Fetzer’s background also includes experience at Guggenheim Partners as in-house counsel for multiple affiliated investment advisors on a range of business and strategic topics in connection with on-going operations both in and outside the U.S., and she structured and led the simultaneous launch of multiple private funds.
She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University School of Law.
